The Evening sky is full or stars and planets. according to M. Ratcliffe and A. Ling, in The May issue of "Astronomy," a spectacular alinement of the five classical in the western sky will present an impressive spectacle of conjunction not to be duplicated for twenty years, when Jupiter and Saturn share the same part of the sky. May 13 should show the best view with the crescent moon below venus, mars and saturn, and mercury a little of to the left with jupiter reigning a little off to the south near the constellation Geminii.
Orion, or at least the belt should be visible, getting progressively lower in the sky as summer comes.
I should find something inspirational in this, the sky can be beautiful, but what happens here at home should be our concern. If we could stop our squabbles turn down the city lights and take a look at the sky people watched before we learned to talk, we might remember how big this all is compared to US.
(as i write this at eckerd library a young man next to me stabs violently at the keyboard punctuating his thoughts)
